~ "The garden in my mind does grow.
In Winter's cold and sparkling snow and ice...
On this cold and freezing day ~my vision's clear
even though days are short,~ through the snow,
the buds appear. In my mind Cleamtis climbs,
and morning glories do entwine, woodland phlox
and scarlet pinks replace the frost if I just blink.
My inner eye sees past the snow.
And in my mind, my garden GROWS!"

~Come when the freezing rains
have glazed the snow
and clothed the trees with ice...

I have not seen ice like this for many many years over here. I was talking to a friend todat about this and he agreed it as been many years. I remember massive icicles and waterfalls that started to freeze, the water just kept building up and freezing... I hope we get a good solid freeze again.
Beautiful icicles. I love this series of photos those icicles look like they have greedily entrapped the drops of red *!*
These are very well framed photos and of such beauty. Loved them all.
Love Barbara Winkler's quote, one of my favorites. Beautiful photos, Cat ...
Beautiful photos. Something about things encapsulated in ice. I also enjoyed B. Winkler quote. Thanks!
Wow this looks fantastic. I can't remember when I've seen ice on the trees like on your photos. Must have been when I was little. We don't have much as you call it "winter" this year. Feat pictures!
Have a wonderful week, Britta
I suppose you have to think of tomorrow when the sun is warm and the ground moves. Still, these are nice photos and experiences you will cherish a long time.
I'm back. You always have such thoughtful postings. What could you do with the "significance of 38 seconds?" Check out my newest post. :-)
Wow...some very beautifully captured shots!
We got some ice a few days ago, but it then warmed up and now it all rain. Thankfully. Nice photos you got here.

Love all the pictures and the promising poem. :)
I love the ice the way it looks, it begs to be photographed, nice job. Too bad it's so hard to get around in it.

Hi Cat - it is always so fun to come here and stroll through your lovely photos! thank you!
I love these ice photos - exquisite is the word that comes to mind. I also loved seeing flowers and other garden reminders. I've been looking through my garden photos from last year - longingly!! I am so ready for spring. But in the meantime, nice to enjoy your images.
Cat, I really love your ice photos..ice is always so beautiful. Well, except for when you are driving on it. : ) I just saw some of my spring bulbs peeking up in my garden today. This is definately a good sign winter will come to an end.
Beauitful Photos!
