~Spring Snow~

~Today an hour before twighlight
And how the wind did blow,
As it began to snow....

~Branches in blossom shake
to the rhythms of the wind...

A few flecks~
of yellow~
Forsythias awakening

~Snowcapped peaks
in three directions~
wet green valley...

~Day by day
Winter disappears...

~Mocking birds singing love tunes~
voices of dying winter.

~Shadowless dusk
Growing colder~
Squealing teakettle.

~From dark trees,
An owl's hoot,
Chilly night...
~From Above the Fog

~It snowed so hard, and was so windy,
that only certain trees wore a blanket of white!

It began melting just before dark! ~As if just
a gentle reminder from old man winter letting
spring know he is still near by!

Hi Cat.
I hope that you had a nice Easter as well. :)
This is a beautiful post.
Lovely colours and shades.
Poetry... :)
The Forsythia is awakening here also, at the moment.
Right now we have got some snow, covering my Daffodills, Grape Hyasinths etc.
Soon it will be warmer - at your place and in my corner.
Have a great week.
Hug`s. :)

Your words are so lovely...and the pics are the icing on the cake! Beautiful! We have snow in the forecast for this afternoon. Old Man Winter doesn't want to loosen his grip! But the sun is shining brightly this morning inspite of the cold temps..and that's good!
Thanks for those very welcome comments. I loved hearing from you :)

What a treat to scroll down and see all of those spring bulbs in bloom! Thank you! Your photos are always amazing, and I am very ready for spring blooms. We had snow each day over the weekend - but melting like crazy today.

Cat, I love the rhythms of a southern spring in these poems. The mockingbirds arrived here in Alabama several weeks ago but I haven't seen them courting yet.

Thanks for stopping by Amputated Moon and leaving a comment. My blog's name came from a poem I wrote, Amputated Moon.

Gosh these are nice. I like the flowers you have shown. They make me strain for the dirt I know is out there but much too cold and wet to get a handful. Maybe next month.

Nice Photography.

Catherine, first off all thanks about your help with those flowers of mine.

Here, once again, amazing photos. Quite simple some of them, but with enormous grace.

The seasons still have a stong hold on each other, driving us all a bit MAD. Lovely thoughts and lovely photos, Cat ... I forgot we both have 'TALKING TREES'. I'll be visiting with mine this weekend. Hugs!
