First Snowfall....

~ "The cold was our pride, the snow was our
beauty. It fell and fell, lacing day and night
together in a milky haze, making every~
thing quiter as it fell, so that Winter seemed
to partake of religion in a way no other
season did, hushed, solem."
~Patricia Hampl

~A few remaining Rose's greet the snow...
and now wearing their cold white winter
blanket, finally say farewell....

But ... ~ If we had no Winter, the Spring
would not be so pleasant.
~Anne Bradstreet

~Michael P. Garofalo

~Winter, a lingering season, is a time to
gather golden moments ,
embark upon a sentimental journey,
and enjoy every idle hour.

Absolutely beautiful shots!

Yes, we had our first dusting yesterday....I think ya'll got more than we did :)

About 9 years ago - I travelled 64 to 81 from WV and would pass Covington all the time (when I lived in WV). At that time I traveled a LOT with my job - so I was passing Covington every 2 weeks or so.

I have been toying with the idea of visiting Douthat State Park, which is over your way, right? My hubby went there more than 40 years ago with his family on vacation and loved it.
Ever been??

Your photos represent this time of year perfectly. Your words remind me that as we move indoors, this is a time of introspection and reflection.

Beautiful post!

Ohh... great shots of snow with berries! Although I love plants I also really enjoy seeing them in all elements and the contrast with white and red couldn't be greater and is especially seasonal :-D

BTW glad to see you have been able to comment on my blog. I don't know what has been happening with blogger recently but I haven't received notification of a number of comments. Thanks for dropping by :-D
