Welcome Summer~With The Magic Of June

~Hollyhocks getting ready to bloom...

"On this June day the buds in my garden
are almost as enchanting as the open flowers,

Things in bud bring, in the heat of June, the
recollection of the loveliest days of the year..."
~Francis King

~Pink flower carpet rose sprinkled
by a summer rain...

~It is the month of June,
The month of leaves & roses,
When pleasant sights salute the eyes,
And pleasant scents the noses.
~Nathaniel Parker (The Month Of June)

~Pink Hollyhocks, Purple Petunia's,
Bambie, & Butterflies...
Awww....Magical June!

~Dirty hands, Iced tea,
garden fragrances thick in the air,
And a blanket of color before me?
~Bev Adams

Dew-Drop And Diamond
by
Robert Graves

The difference between you and her
(whom I to you did once prefer)
Is clear enough to settle:
She like a diamond shone, but you
Shine like an early drop of dew
Poised on a red rose petal.

The dew-drop carries in its eye
Mountain and forest, sea and sky,
With every change of weather;
Contrariwise, a diamond splits
The prospect into idle bits
That none can piece together.

I came across this poem by chance last night looking for something completely different... I kept it as I thought I could use it in a post.. I gladly post it here today after seeing this beautiful flowers and of course dew-drops.

Dear Cat,
Beautiful!
The humidity is rising at my house. I enjoy the mornings and the evenings outside. During the heat of the day I relax inside and go visiting.
Wonderful spending time in your garden, the dew drops and rain drops so refreshing.
Thank you,
Sherry

Finally I respond. It was time consuming getting ready for the tour. There were actually 390 people I am told. I like your autumn fern picture and the raven. The raven compilation catches the frenetic nature of the bird. One is skawing in my yard as I write. Thanks for hanging on when I was too busy.

How lovely, Cat! Your Bambi photo is touching. Can't tell you how many fawns we had to brake for on the way home from the lake. (No one does dewdrops better than you)!

Hi, Cathy!

Thank you for visiting me over at Home Musings. No, the picture is not of my actual home, but of the home in my heart.

I see you are from Virginia! You are very fortunate. Most of my family resides in NC and VA. My father lives in Waynesboro and my sister is in Annandale, near DC. I actually graduated high school in Herndon, near DC.

Years, ago I moved out West, but moved back to NC when I married. Now, we are out West again, but I will always love VA and NC in my heart of hearts.

Take care,

Elizabeth
